Who Are Chuffed Skates?

Chuffed Skates is an independent roller skate company based in Australia.

They make high top roller skates, roller skate boots and skate goods.

Chuffed has a mission to spread their love for roller skating all over the world.

We love that Chuffed Skates is an Australian owned company that is owned and operated by roller skaters.

They make bloody good, colourful, comfortable roller skates and they give back to skaters and community groups.

Chuffed Skates are an alternative to US brands that make high top skates like Riedell, Sure-Grip and Moxi or European brands such as Rio or Chaya.

You might recognise them from their cute side eye logo that you'll find on the tongue of most of their models.

How Do Chuffed Skates Fit?

In comparison to some of the other brands out there, Chuffed offer a wider fitting boot fit.

The size is different to shoe size so we recommend measuring your feet prior to ordering.

The leather suede and vegan suede skates are soft and comfortable on the leg, with padded lining and tongue.

We find the Chuffed leather suede and vegan skates (Crew and Wanderer) are wider than the Moxi Lolly or Riedell Zone and softer than Moxi Beach Bunny, Moxi Panther and Sure-Grip Boardwalk.

They also make a range of pro boots that are a lot stiffer and than the Crew or Wanderer. These are an alternative option to the Moxi Jack, Jack2 or Chaya Dark Soul.

Chuffed Cruiser Skates

The beginner option of the Chuffed family, the Chuffed Cruiser is a good roller skate for children and those who are learning to skate.

This retro inspired model is a vinyl boot with nylon plate and hybrid 82A wheels.

Although it is a nylon plate this skate still comes with an adjustable toe stop.

Medium stiffness.

Best for: Beginner skaters indoors and outdoors.

Not for: Skate park.

Sizes: Available in sizes 2-11. Chuffed sizing is known to be different from Australian shoe size so we always recommend measuring your feet and comparing to their size chart to get it right.

Chuffed Skates Wanderer and Crew

Chuffed Roller Skates Wanderer Olive Green - Lucky Skates

The first offerings from Chuffed were the leather suede Chuffed Crew and Chuffed Wanderer.

Perfect for the beginner to intermediate skater who wants to skate the streets, rink and the skatepark.

These boots are made in either leather suede or vegan suede materials and the boot is more durable and long lasting than some other brands.

Great for medium to wide feet and very comfortable.

A major feature of these skates is they come standard with aluminium plate and adjustable toe stops which is a common upgrade request.

The Crew skates come with hybrid 82A wheels, while the Wanderer version have a 78A outdoor wheel.

Some models - Caramel, Blue and Watermelon - also come with toe guards.

Medium stiffness.

The suede Chuffed Wanderers are a good alternative to the suede Moxi Lolly skates and the suede Sure-Grip Boardwalk skates.

Like the Lolly and Boardwalk they offer a suede leather boot.

The main differences are that they have a wider toe box, an aluminium plate and soft padding to stop the material from digging into the leg (which can be an issue on the original Boardwalks).

Best for: Beginner to intermediate skaters indoors, outdoors and at the skatepark.

Not for: Advanced skaters landing heavy tricks at the skate park.

Sizes: Available in sizes 4-11. Chuffed sizing is known to be different from Australian shoe size so we always recommend measuring your feet and comparing to their size chart to get it right.

Chuffed Skates Wanderer PLUS

The Chuffed Wanderer Concrete Plus has all the features of the Wanderer with a few key differences made to slay at the skate park.

The main differences are the Plus is a stiffer boot, offering firm support and the package comes with 99A hard skatepark wheels so they are ready to go at the skate park.

The Wanderer Plus is currently available in a concrete grey leather suede with a pink and red liner.

The Concrete Plus is a collaboration between Chuffed and two skaters from Hell on Quads, Carolina Hernández and Alexandra Londoño.

The aim is to bring a quality but affordable option to Latin American skaters through a subsidy system.

Firm stiffness.

Best for: Beginner to intermediate skaters indoors, outdoors and at the skatepark. Depending on preference this boot can suit more advanced skaters as well.

Sizes: Available in sizes 4-11. Chuffed sizing is known to be different from Australian shoe size so we always recommend measuring your feet and comparing to their size chart to get it right.

Chuffed Pro Boots

As well as complete roller skates, Chuffed also offers boots that are harder in stiffness to suit advanced skaters and those going full send at the skatepark.

As these skate boots have developed over time they have incorporated different features such as:

  • Extra reinforcements
  • Form to extra firm suede boot
  • Increased ankle support
  • Padded cloud foam lining
  • Boot carry loop
  • 360° stitched & glued soles to prevent heel lift
  • High impact shock absorbing insoles
  • Heavy duty aluminium alloy eyelets
  • Tongue stabiliser

Some of these boot only models are also signature skates for talented skaters such as their most recent release - The Chuffed Pro Roller Skate Boots in Rib Green. This skate is crafted in collaboration with Aussie skater Rib with a portion of the sale going to Rib and a portion going to their charity of choice.

Skaters can build their own skates with these boot only models.
